Megan & John’s Swinging Bridges Yosemite Elopement

2021 was a year for the books, especially for us at Silver Seas, where we found ourselves capturing more weddings than ever before. Amidst a whirlwind of love stories, Megan and John’s Swinging Bridges Yosemite Elopement stood out, marking our fifth day of back-to-back weddings. Having not visited Yosemite in a while, we knew this adventure needed to be extraordinary. As a Yosemite elopement photographer and videographer, we set out early, eager to document the unfolding of a beautiful new chapter in Megan and John’s lives.

Morning Preparations at Mariposa

Our day began at the crack of dawn, leaving our house at 6 AM to meet Megan at her Mariposa Airbnb by 2 PM. The cool air was filled with excitement as Megan, surrounded by her closest family and friends, prepared for one of the most significant moments of her life. We captured Megan’s mom helping her put on her wedding dress followed by a heartwarming father-daughter first look. These moments are a testament to the unbreakable bonds of family love and are a huge part of what makes being a Yosemite elopement videographer so incredibly rewarding.

Swinging Bridges Yosemite Elopement Ceremony

The ceremony itself was set against the stunning backdrop of Swinging Bridges, offering breathtaking views of Yosemite Falls. With a close-knit group of friends and family by their side, Megan and John exchanged vows that echoed through the valley, sealing their love with a kiss. Even though our primary role was video, I couldn’t resist capturing some family photos, immortalizing the joy and love shared by all. This Swinging Bridges Yosemite Elopement was shaping up to be one for the ages.

Intimate Moments and Breathtaking Views

Our journey didn’t end at the ceremony. Together, we ventured to Taft Point for sunset portraits. We love the 2.3 mile hike to Taft Point because it allows us to connect more deeply with our couples. Each stop along the way added layers to their wedding film, weaving a story of adventure, love, and stunning landscapes. The sunset at Taft Point never fails to amaze, offering a moment of awe for both the couple and us. This was Megan and John’s first trip to Yosemite, making the moment even more special. As twilight descended, we captured the last of our portraits, basking in the afterglow of a day filled with unforgettable moments.
