Pullman San Francisco Waterfront Indian Wedding

Pullman San Francisco Waterfront Indian Wedding

Some weddings you photograph and some weddings you feel. Ramitha and Vinyak’s celebration at the Pullman Hotel San Francisco Airport was absolutely the latter. From the electric energy of their sangeet the night before, to the baraat that had everyone moving, to a waterfront courtyard ceremony packed wall-to-wall with genuine smiles — this was a weekend that reminded us exactly why we do what we do. We were honored to cover both photography and videography for Ramitha and Vinyak, and every single frame of this wedding tells the same story: two people deeply in love, surrounded by a community that loves them just as fiercely.

The Night Before: A Sangeet Full of Heart

The weekend kicked off with a sangeet — and if you’ve never experienced one, let us paint the picture. Think performances, choreographed dances, laughter that echoes across the room, and a kind of warmth that only comes when two families are on the verge of becoming one. Ramitha and Vinyak’s sangeet had all of it. The performances were spectacular, the dancing was nonstop, and the joy in that room was completely infectious. We were moving constantly, chasing light and laughter in equal measure — and honestly, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. If the sangeet was any indication of what the wedding day would bring, we knew we were in for something special.

Wedding Morning & The First Look

The wedding day morning had that particular kind of quiet energy — the calm before the most beautiful storm. Both Ramitha and Vinyak were getting ready separately, surrounded by their closest people, getting set for a day they’d been dreaming about. Then came the first look. There is something about a first look that never gets old, no matter how many we’ve witnessed. The anticipation, the slow turn, and then that split second where everything registers — it’s always, always worth it. Ramitha and Vinyak’s first look was no exception. The emotion was real, the setting was beautiful, and we were right there for every second of it.

The Baraat: Energy Turned All the Way Up

If the sangeet set the tone, the baraat cranked it to a whole new level. Vinyak arrived in full celebration mode — surrounded by dancing family and friends, dhol drums filling the air, pure joyful chaos in the best possible form. There’s a reason the baraat is one of our favorite moments to photograph and film at Indian weddings. The movement, the color, the raw happiness — it translates to stunning imagery every single time. The baraat made its way to the venue where Ramitha’s family was waiting to receive them in a beautiful, traditional welcome. The energy of those moments — two families formally meeting in celebration — is something we never take for granted behind the lens.

The Ceremony: Waterfront Courtyard, All Smiles

The ceremony took place in the waterfront courtyard at the Pullman Hotel San Francisco Airport — and the setting was stunning. The open air, the Bay Area backdrop, the beautifully arranged mandap — it all came together perfectly. But honestly? What stood out most wasn’t the setting. It was the couple. Ramitha and Vinyak were beaming throughout their entire ceremony. The kind of smiles you can’t fake and can’t stop. The traditional Indian ceremony rituals — rich with meaning and layered with generations of love — unfolded beautifully, and you could feel the significance of every moment settling over the entire crowd. By the time the ceremony wrapped, there wasn’t a dry eye or an unsmiling face in that courtyard.

Portraits: Making the Most of the Waterfront

Following the ceremony, we headed into couples and family portraits — and the Pullman’s waterfront location gave us so much to work with. The light, the water, the architecture — it all made for a portrait session that felt effortless and genuinely fun for Ramitha and Vinyak. After the intensity of the ceremony, this is often when couples finally exhale and just exist together for a few minutes. That ease always shows in the photos.

The Reception: Dancing, Performances & Pure Celebration

If you thought the sangeet was lively, the reception took things to an entirely different level. After the grand entrance, the evening flowed through a first dance, heartfelt parent dances, a cake cutting, and then — the performances began. One after another, family members and friends took the floor with choreographed routines that had the entire room on their feet. The energy was relentless in the best way. And when the formal performances wound down, the dance floor took over. It stayed packed. People who had been celebrating since the night before at the sangeet somehow found a second (and third) wind, and the celebration carried on deep into the evening. This is the kind of reception that makes you forget you’re working — and then you look down and realize you’ve captured hundreds of frames of pure, unfiltered joy.
