Gothic Fall Mountain House Estate Wedding

Athena & John’s Mountain House Estate Wedding

Athena and John’s September wedding at Mountain House Estate blended fall vibes, metal-inspired details, and heartfelt moments into one unforgettable celebration. With perfect weather, stunning florals, a black veil, and a reception that absolutely went off, their day had the perfect mix of beauty and personality.

Why Couples Love Mountain House Estate

Mountain House Estate is one of the most flexible and scenic wedding venues in Northern California. With on-site getting ready suites, multiple ceremony locations, a beautiful pond, open fields, and sunset views that always deliver — it’s a dream space for couples wanting a relaxed but elevated celebration.

For Athena and John, it was the perfect backdrop for their fall-inspired style.

Getting Ready in the Bridal + Groom Suites

Both sides of the wedding party got ready on-site, which set such an easy, stress-free tone for the morning. Heather from Ybarra Events coordinated everything seamlessly (as usual), keeping everyone on time and relaxed.

The energy in both suites was fun and lively — the kind of wedding party that keeps you laughing the entire day.

A Beautiful First Look by the Pond

Their first look took place by the pond, tucked into the tall redwood trees and soft fall light. You could see the nerves fade instantly once they saw each other. It was calm, sweet, and full of those quiet moments that make first looks so special.

Oak Tree Terrace Ceremony

The ceremony at Oak Tree Terrace was gorgeous — sunny, warm, and framed by beautiful florals by Gina’s Floral Enchantment. The colors popped perfectly against the late-September landscape.

They shared short personal vows, and Athena couldn’t help but tear up. It was emotional, intimate, and full of everything you want in a ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Sunset Portraits Across the Property

As the sun dipped behind the hills, we wandered through the fields and around the estate for portraits. The golden light hit just right, giving us the warm, fall glow that Mountain House Estate is famous for.

Their style made the portraits even more fun — Athena’s black veil brought such a cool, unique twist to the romantic sunset setting.

Reception on the Lawn

Their reception on the lawn was packed with personality. They brought their love of fall and metal into the décor with:

  • Tarot card table numbers
  • A skull centerpiece on their head table
  • Fall-toned florals with amazing texture
  • Candlelit accents that glowed as the sun went down

One of the most iconic moments? Their grand entrance with Middle Eastern bagpipers and drummers, which absolutely electrified the crowd and set the tone for the rest of the night. The energy stayed high with dancing, laughter, emotional toasts, and a party that never slowed down.

Night Portraits by the Pond

Once the reception was in full swing, we stepped back out to the pond for some nighttime portraits. The reflections on the water and the cool September air made for a perfect little breather — and some of the most dramatic images of the day.

A Day Full of Personality, Heart, and Meaning

What made Athena and John’s wedding so special wasn’t just the beautiful setting — it was how unapologetically them the whole day felt. From the metal aesthetic to the emotional vows to the incredible entrance, every piece told their story.
